Synopsis:
This is actually one of the most difficult pieces to complete for me. Why? Because of the multiple radiances of light that are to be seen from this one picture. Here is the scripture:
12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. (Rev 1:12-16)
I have seen many interpretations of this set of scriptures.
Whats up with the rainbow from the mouth? Well, this displays the two-edged sword that proceeds out of his mouth. How does that make sense? Well, a rainbow is a visual display of the 7 colors of pure light. Which is Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. The only thing that sepreates darkness is light. Light is God and Jesus said “I am the Light.” Most of the pictures of this painting illustrated shows a huge sword protruding out of the face or embedded with the stream of light. Which it is true there is a sword. What does the bible says the sword of God does:
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb 4:12)
That type of sword is not formed of metal. It is light itself. God divided both light and darkness with his Word. The Word of God is Jesus.
